Baccarat PDF Print E-mail
Playing Online Baccarat is just as fun as it is to play in a Las Vegas casino. Because baccarat is basically you against the dealer, the game is very much about the run of cards you get. If you would like to play baccarat online we recommend the casinos listed to the right.

Baccarat is an exceedingly popular game at both brick and mortar casinos and online casinos. That is probably due to the relative simplicity of the game. Baccarat is believed to have been created by the Italians and spread to France during the reign of France’s Charles VIII. Like slot machines, Baccarat is a game of pure chance, there is no skill involved. It is a card table game but very unique in game play. No matter how many players are present only two hands are dealt during Baccarat: the player hand and the banker hand. The objective is to guess which hand will have the greatest value and players are free to bet on either hand; they are not limited to betting on the ‘player’ hand.
Card values in Baccarat are not tallied in the way one might expect. The highest total card value possible is 9 and the lowest total card value possible is zero. The name for a hand worth zero is Baccarat. Oddly enough the game is named after the worst possible hand. Cards 2 through 9 maintain their face value. An ace is worth 1. Face cards and 10s are worth zero. During Baccarat, a hand is made of two cards minimum and three cards at the most. There are even special rules to adding card values during Baccarat. If the value of the cards exceeds 10, the first digit in the number is dropped.

Example: 2 + 5 = 7 or 8 + 9 = 7 (the 1 in front of 17 is dropped and the value is now 7).

The basics of Baccarat are simple, perhaps the key to the games popularity, however there are a few additional rules that complicate the game and keep it exciting. To begin, both the player and the banker are dealt two cards face down. Next, both hands are revealed. The value of the initial hand determines whether the player of banker must draw an additional hand, they have no choice in the matter. If the initial value for either the player or the banker hand amounts to 8 or 9, also called a natural, no further cards are added to the hand. Rules are simple for the player hand: if his initial hand amounts to 6 or 7 he does not draw, if the value is 0-5 he must draw a single card.rd and the bankers initial hand amounts to 0-5, the banker must draw a card. If the banker’s initial hand is 6 or 7, in this situation he stands. If the player is forced to draw and he draws a 2 or 3, the banker draws if his initial value is 0-4, but stands if his initial value is 5-7. If the player is forced to draw and he draws a 4 or 5, the banker draws if his initial value is 0-5, but stands if his initial value is 6-7. If the player draws a 6 or 7, the banker draws if his initial value is 0-6, but stands if his initial value is 7. If the player is forced to draw and he draws an 8, the banker draws if his initial value is 0-2, but stands if his initial value is 3-7. Finally, in the event that a player draws an Ace, 9, or face card, the banker will draw if his initial value amounts to 0-3, but he will stand if he has a value of 4-7.

On this simple premise, gamblers can place bets on which ever hand they think will attain the highest value. Winning bets are usually paid out according to house rules. This simple game continues to provide hours of gambling excitement.
Craps PDF Print E-mail
One of the few dice games that still remain, craps is still as popular as it ever was. The game involves throwing the dice and gambling on the outcome of the roll. There are numerous opportunities to win the game, and many consider it a “rich man’s” game because so much of it involves chance.

Craps is actually derived from the Old English game Hazard, and some say it dates back to the time of the Crusades. Once the French got a hold of the game, however, it changed and is now closer to the game that we have today. It took a detour through New Orleans and became vastly popular with the African American crowd and grew in popularity from there.

In craps you have two main options for playing: you can bet against other players, which is known as “street craps,” or you can bet against the bank which is known as “bank craps.” The player knows whether or not they have won based on the outcome of either one roll or a series of rolls – which is determined at the onset of the game.
The best part about craps is that it can be played virtually anywhere, thus adding to the convenience and popularity of the game. When played in an environment such as a street game, side bets are extremely common and popular. In a casino, this practice is generally not allowed.

The beauty of craps is the multiplicity of betting options. There are so many possible ways of winning and/or losing that it beats any card game out there in terms of strategy and style.

Bank craps is played by one or more players against the casino that the game is located in. The casino covers the bets and sets the odds on payout. The player that steps up to roll the dice is called the “shooter.” The other players will make bets based on what they think the shooter is going to win. The shooter must bet the table minimum on either the “Pass line” or the “Don’t Pass Line.” These are commonly referred to as “Win” and “Don’t Win.” The player who is due to go next has the option of shooting or passing the dice. If they pass, the dice are passed around the table until they get to someone who wants to throw them.

The stickman offers the player five dice of which they will choose two and the rest go back to the bowl. The shooter throws the dice and gets a “come out roll” which is the point established for the round. If the roll is a 2, 3, or 12 it is considered “craps” and the players lose their pass line bets. A come out rill of 7 or 11 is a “natural” and pass line bets win, and don’t pass bets lose. If the numbers 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 are rolled on the come out they become the point and the roll is over. The dealers will move the puck to the point number which shows all players what it is. If the shooter rolls a seven pass line loses and don’t pass wins, and the dice is passed to the next person.

There are four people running the table:

Boxman: guards the chips and supervises the dealers. They also handle coloring out players

Base dealers: there are two of these and they stand on either side of the boxman. They collect and pay bets.

Stickman: they stand directly across the table from the boxman, takes the bets from the center of the table, announces results of each roll, collects the dice with a long wooden stick, and directs the base dealers to pay winners.

Each employee is responsible for both their job and making sure that the other members of the team are paying out winners correctly. If there is not a lot of business in the casino, the craps table can be manned by three employees, as one of the base dealers will not need to be there. This also closes half of the table for betting.

When shooting you must send the dice to the opposite end of the table so that they bounce back from the wall. The names of the rolls in craps are just as interesting as the game itself.

Two 1’s: Snake Eyes
Two 2’s: Hard Four
Two 3’s: Hard Six
Two 4’s: Hard Eight
Two 5’s: Hard Ten
Two 6’s: Boxcars

1 & 2: Ace Duece
1 & 3: Easy Four
1 & 4: Fever Five
1 & 5: Easy Six
1 & 6: Natural or Seven Out

2 & 3: Fever Five
2 & 4: Easy Six
2 & 5: Natural or Seven Out
2 & 6: Easy Eight

3 & 4: Natural or Seven Out
3 & 5: Easy Eight
3 & 6: Nine or Nina

4 & 5: Nine or Nina
4 & 6: Easy Ten

5 & 6: Yo or Yo-leven

Depending on where you live, these names will change somewhat as the locals put their own flavor on them. Some areas of the country call a nine a “Centerfield Nine” and the five is called “No Field Five.” It truly depends on where you live as to what the names are for the rolls.

Street craps is a much more informal version of craps, where you agree on a number as the point and then try to roll that number again before rolling a seven. In addition the other player will cover the bet of the shooter. If they bet “Don’t pass” they have to bet “Pass.” This covers the bet and ensures a win for one of the players.

The precise history and development of slot machines is actually well documented, particularly when compared to poker, rummy, and other card games that have controversial origins. The first slot machine was developed in the United States, more specifically, in New York City. The game was developed by two individuals, Sittman and Pitt. The concept of the slot machine remains in tact from those early days of development; naturally though the technology has improved vastly from the early slot machines that operated on drums and card faces and had only the most basic technology to make the drum (later developed into the reel) work.

The game became a bit of an instant hit at pubs and bars all over New York and in the subsequent years, throughout the United States and into the rest of the world. The early slot machines were developed with the game of poker in mind and the players actually held some cards while the drum was spinning. Modern slot machines are much more advanced and the slots have even been introduced and widely developed for the online casino gambling industry within the past decade. Land slots nowadays involve snazzy graphics and symbols, unique gaming themes, automated payout systems and even advanced bonus rounds, multipliers, and other a slew of innovative extra features.

Slot machines are known by many names throughout the world and their extreme popularity makes slots the cornerstone gambling device of land and online casinos all over the world. Americans specifically use the term slot machine while the game is known as fruit machines throughout the UK and poker machines in Australia. The machines, as mentioned, are fully automated right now and while in years past the machines operated with a pull of the lever, many modern slots forgo the arm and even the use of real cash and instead use a push button and paper tickets worth a player’s winnings.

The game’s auspicious beginning could not even begin to predict the popularity of slot machine gambling. The early machines were very popular at pubs and the such but the game was rudimentary at best and there was no formal payout system on the early machines. Players inserted coins (often just a nickel) into the slot machines and hoped that the drum would serve up a favorable poker hand – winning hands were often rewarded by the bartenders with a free beer.

Modern slot machines are an altogether different beast and gamblers are often able to win thousands of dollars from just one spin of the reel. The modern land slots operate on a reel or are merely a computer generated reel. With the advent of the online casino gambling industry, actual spinning reels have been replaced with computer generated random odds and virtual reels. The Random Number Generator feature of a slot is the key component to the machine. Gamblers sit down at the slots for a bit of gambling and whether or not they hit a winning combination of symbols is determined by an RNG function. The use of an RNG means that there is no way for the casinos to “rig” a machine to a house advantage.

The only variable factor that does affect the house advantage is the payout percentage. The payout percentage is pretty standard now-a-days and casinos have to keep the percentage in the mid 90s. This means that for every dollar that a gambler puts into the machine, the slot will payout any where between 90 and 98 cents – casinos have a slight say in the payout percentage but they must adhere to a minimum. To lure in more gamblers many casinos will boost the payout percentage. The tricky part about a payout percentage is the fact that this percentage is across thousands of plays on the slot. The only has to reach that percentage across time and is often met with large jackpot wins for a single player.

Slot machines are the bread and butter for both the land and online casinos. Gambling venues and online sites often offer a huge variety of slot games because the company is looking to appeal to as many individuals as possible. The slots come in various themes and as technology increases gamblers can explore medieval castles with kings and queens, go on an adventure with Lara Croft, dive under the sea, or many other innovative themes. Modern slots are flashy examples of all that modern graphics and sound technology can produce and gamblers just flock to the experience.

In recent years, the slots have regained popularity all over the world, and particularly at the online casinos as a result of progressive slots. Progressive slots allow gamblers from multiple slot machines to all feed into one jackpot. That jackpot is then able to grow and multiply far faster than traditional slots. The highest online casino progressive jackpot actually paid out more than $5.5 million to one lucky player.

The slots industry is popular all over the world and is a staple in most any land casino. The game is exceedingly simple and relies on blind luck – a combination that has gamblers whiling away hours at the slots.
Bingo PDF Print E-mail
Traditionally thought of as an old person’s game, bingo has grown in both popularity and notoriety over the past few years. It has become the single most popular video gambling game behind slot machines, and much of that has to do with the influx of tribal casinos.

As tribal casinos have expanded across the United States, so has bingo. It can only be assumed that due to the popularity of these casinos and the fact that many of them can only offer Class II machines, that bingo would take off. For Class II machines are bingo machines, and many states will allow those but will not allow their higher paying Class III cousins.

According to recent reports, players in the UK have taken such a fancy to the game that they are spending well over £600 million (USD $1.2 billion) per year on bingo tickets online. The number one bingo site in the UK is bringing in 19% of the market, and the others fall in line from there. Estimates put the number of online bingo players increasing with 50,000 of the original three million land based bingo players now playing online. They also found that 90% of those online bingo players were under the age of 50, and 85% of them were women.

Bingo can actually be traced back to a lottery game that originated in Italy in 1530. Bingo has matured considerably from the first round of it, until we have the video version of the game that is offered in both land based and online casinos. The whole idea behind a bingo game is that players are given a card with random numbers that fall between 1 and 75. These numbers are linked to a letter, and fall in line accordingly:

B - lists #’s 1 - 15
I - lists #’s 16 - 30
N - lists #’s 31 – 45, and holds a free space in the middle square of the row
G - lists #’s 46 - 59
0 - lists #’s 60 – 75

Numbered balls are then drawn from a large ball and called out if done live. If playing online bingo you have several options as to how you find out if the numbers are the ones on your cards. You can click on them yourself, or you can use a program called “auto-daub” which marks your card for you as the numbers are drawn. Some online bingo programs also offer “Best Card Sorting” or “Best Card Highlighting” so that if you are playing you have the ability to see who is closest to hitting bingo.

The idea is to get “BINGO” before your opponents, thus ensuring the prize for yourself. There are a variety of ways that you can win the game, with the most traditional being five in a row either horizontally, vertically, or diagonally – it depends on the type of bingo that you are playing.

There are two major types of bingo played around the world. There is the 75 ball bingo on a 5x5 card with a free spot in the middle of the card – which is mostly popular in North America. Then there is the 90 ball game which is so popular in Europe, the UK, Australia, and some of South America, which is marked on a 9x3 card. You have the ability to play both on the internet.

The 75 ball bingo plays in patterns from a simple line to more complicated wins. You can play where you have to fill the whole card, or only part of it, but the part that is filled is usually in some sort of shape. Popular patterns for bingo are the “T” shape where the top horizontal row and the middle vertical row must be filled; or the “C” shape where both the top and bottom horizontal and the far left vertical columns must be filled. They grow in complexity from there.

The 90 ball bingo card is a little different in that it has three horizontal lines and nine columns. Each line has five numbers, so each card has 15 numbers. The first column is 1-9, the second column is 10-19, the third column is 20-29 and continues until you hit the final column which is 80-90. There are three ways to win in the bingo game – you can have one line filled, two lines filled, or a Full House. In a one line game you must fill one horizontal line, the two line game they have to fill two horizontal lines of their choice. Obviously, full house means that they have to fill the entire card.

Breaking the Bubble: The bubble is the absolute minimum number of balls that you need to get bingo. If you are lucky enough to get every number that is called in your pattern, you will have just won Bingo.

Cased/Waiting: When you have all the numbers in the pattern except for one, and simply need that one called in order for you to win.

False Alarm: Also known as “bongo, “falsie,” or “social error,” this is when someone calls bingo but does not actually have it. This can happen for a variety of reasons including mishearing the caller or stamping the wrong number in error. Usually if someone calls a false alarm they truly believe that they have won bingo.

Forwards/Backwards: This is all of the numbers beginning or ending with whatever the wild number is. Let’s say that the first ball is 22 – every number that begins or ends with a 2 is a called number. If there a number is called that limits the number of wins, like 19 (as there are no numbers that start with 9), another number may be pulled as well. This is determined on a hall by hall basis.

Jumping the Gun: This is when someone calls bingo before they actually have it. Usually using calling a number before it has been called.

Standard: All numbers ending with the second digit of the first number are considered called numbers. Let’s say that the number pulled is 15 – all numbers ending in 5 are considered called numbers – including B5.

Wild numbers: Wild numbers are determined by the bingo hall, and usually allow bingo players to start with multiple called numbers. It usually the first ball drawn, but this can vary on occasion.

Online Roulette Games bring one of the easiest Vegas style casino games right to your PC. Unlike video poker or blackjack, Roulette is a game of pure luck and there is no real effective strategy to beat the game. The good news is that its one of the most exciting games and when your number hits the payouts are BIG. Our favorite online casinos for playing roulette are listed to the right.

The game of roulette is a signature French game form the 18th Century – the term is French and translates as “small wheel.” The first official book on the game was published in 1801 and the author references the game of roulette being played in Paris in 1976 at the Palais Royal. The origins of the game though can be traced back several decades earlier at least – Canadian regulations published in 1758 ban the game (Canada was known as New France at the time). The basic game of roulette has actually changed very little over the past two centuries and although technology has facilitated the modernization of the wheel, the betting pattern and rules of the game remain relatively unchanged.
Although the game of roulette was clearly born out of France in the 1700’s, the inspiration for the game comes from several English wheel based games that were popular at the time that roulette was established. The French game takes some of the best parts of a handful of English and Italian games; some earliest games that shaped the development of modern roulette include: Ace of Hearts, Roly-Poly, E.O, Hoca, and Biribi. Several of the English games inspiring roulette also used a wheel.

The game is pretty standard all around the world. Unlike the game of poker gambling, roulette has mostly the same components no matter which version of the game a player chooses. The two main styles of roulette gambling include both American and European roulette. The American version of the game has 38 numbered and colored pockets whereas the European version of the game has 37 pockets. Except the number of pockets, the wheel looks the same in both versions of the game. The roulette wheel has all of the numbers 1 through 37 (or 38 depending) and each number is either red or black. When the wheel is spun a small ball is then spun at the top of the wheel in the opposite direction from the spin – the winning numbers are determined when the ball falls into one of the numbered and colored pockets.

The game has its origins in European royalty and was most popular with the elite gamblers when it was first introduced. Europe has a rocky history with the gambling industry and there was a period of time where any form of gambling – roulette included, was only available at the Monte Carlo casino resort. Gambling was banned from Germany and other countries and essentially only the elite and wealthy were able to travel to the Monte Carlo to gamble. Despite this brief period of time when roulette gambling was stifled in Europe, the game has flourished in both Europe and United States. Roulette lasted as much more than a fad in the gambling industry – even today the game remains one of the most popular casino games.

Part of the popularity of roulette stems from the fact that the game does not have a huge house advantage – certainly something gamblers all over the world love. The roulette wheel features the 38 numbered pockets and just two house pockets. A roulette wheel with the two house pockets is the most traditional version of the game. The house pockets are zero and double zero – as one historical description of the game notes,

"There are exactly two slots reserved for the bank, whence it derives its sole mathematical advantage." The zero and double zero spaces are the banks numbers and if the roulette ball falls into either of these spaces the only payouts go to gamblers who have bet of either of those two numbers – the rest of the roulette board is wiped clean by the croupier and the money all goes to the house.

Another popular form of the game is single zero roulette – this version of the game was launched as a way to compete between casinos and entice more gamblers to play the game. The single zero roulette is still available in many casinos all over the world but is particularly popular in Europe. The traditional roulette wheel always remained the standard in the United States. Roulette in the United States grew out of the Mississippi River region, like most forms of gambling today.

The game underwent a few changes as it evolved into the US culture – casinos simplified the layout of the game and made the placement of the wheel on the betting table a standard of practice…this prevented cheating and made the entire process more transparent for the roulette gamblers. This style of the simplified roulette wheel is actually the international industry standard and roulette gamblers at a casino in Macau play the Americanized version of the game. The only lasting difference between American roulette and French roulette is the use of the either a single zero (the French) or the continued use of both the zero and double zero (United States).
